What is Cinedraft AI?
Cinedraft AI is a professional, browser-based screenwriting application that combines industry-standard screenplay formatting with an optional AI writing assistant. Writers can format scripts, track characters and story beats, work offline, and collaborate with teams — all without installing any software.
Is Cinedraft AI free to use?
Yes. Cinedraft AI offers a permanent Free plan with 2 projects, 100 MB storage, professional formatting, and 500,000 AI tokens per month. Paid plans unlock unlimited projects, more storage, full export formats, and higher AI token allowances.
Does Cinedraft AI use industry-standard screenplay formatting?
Yes. Cinedraft AI automatically applies industry-standard formatting rules used across professional productions — scene headings, action lines, character names, dialogue, parentheticals, and transitions are all formatted to spec as you type.
Can I use Cinedraft without the AI features?
Absolutely. The AI assistant — Cinemate AI — is entirely opt-in. Every plan, including the Free tier, can be used purely as a screenwriting editor with no AI involvement at any point. AI turns on only when you invoke it.
What makes Cinedraft AI different from other screenwriting tools?
Cinedraft AI is built on a craft-first, people-first philosophy. The software is designed so your writing process and instincts lead at all times. It runs entirely in the browser with no installation required, includes offline mode, and is part of Cinemate — a broader filmmaker's operating system built in India.
Does Cinedraft AI support real-time team collaboration?
Real-time collaboration is on the roadmap and coming soon for Plus, Pro, and Premium plans. Team workspace features, including role-based permissions for up to 20 users, are included in paid plans. Today all plans support project-level sharing.
Can I use Cinedraft AI offline?
Yes. Offline mode is available on Plus, Pro, and Premium plans. Your work syncs automatically when you reconnect to the internet.
Is my screenplay data private and secure?
Yes. Cinedraft AI operates as a closed system within your workspace. Your writing is accessible only to you and approved collaborators. The platform does not train on, retain, or redistribute your content beyond your project.
What AI models does Cinemate AI use?
Pro plan users get access to standard AI models in auto mode for dialogue generation, scene writing, and character development. Premium plan users get the latest AI models including Claude and Gemini, with priority response times and unlimited context.
Which currencies does Cinedraft AI support?
Cinedraft AI automatically detects your location and shows prices in Indian Rupees (INR) for India and US Dollars (USD) for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and other supported countries.
What export formats does Cinedraft AI support?
The Free plan includes Cinedraft native format export and watermarked PDF. Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Premium) include clean PDF without watermarks and Fountain (.fountain) export. Fountain is an open plain-text format compatible with other industry screenwriting tools.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your projects will remain accessible in view mode for 90 days after cancellation. You will not be charged again after you cancel.
What happens to my projects if I downgrade my plan?
Your projects remain safe. If you exceed the limits of the new plan (for example, more than 2 projects on the Free plan), you will not be able to create new projects until you are within the plan limits. Existing projects are preserved.
Is there a free trial on paid plans?
Yes. All paid plans — Plus, Pro, and Premium — come with a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade your plan at any time and changes take effect within 15 minutes. Downgrades are applied at the end of your current billing period. Contact support@cinedraft.ai if you need help with your subscription.
Do prices in India include GST?
GST is not yet applied on Cinedraft AI plans. Prices shown in Indian Rupees are the amounts you will be charged. GST integration will be announced separately.
How do I contact Cinedraft AI support?
Email support@cinedraft.ai. Priority support with faster response times is included on the Premium plan. Community support is available to all Free plan users.
Does Cinedraft AI work on mobile devices?
Cinedraft AI is optimised for desktop and laptop browsers for the best writing experience. The web interface is accessible on mobile browsers, though a keyboard-connected device is recommended for writing full screenplays.
What is Cinemate, and how does it relate to Cinedraft AI?
Cinemate is a filmmaker's operating system built by Cinemate Technologies Private Limited, Mumbai. Cinedraft AI is the first product of Cinemate, focused on professional screenplay writing. Future Cinemate products will cover other parts of the film production workflow.
Is Cinedraft AI available globally?
Yes. Cinedraft AI is available to writers worldwide. Pricing is shown in INR for India and USD for international users. The application runs in any modern browser with no geographic restrictions.
